The Transition Support Program is a structured, doctor-led care program designed to support you through the first six months of peri/menopause treatment.

The first few months of menopause treatment often involve adjustment of medications and monitoring of response. It is also the most likely time that patients will experience side effects.

A structured approach allows the clinical team to assess your response to treatment, make appropriate changes if needed, and provide support during this period. This may also improve continuity of care and reduce delays in addressing concerns.

By six months most patients will be on a stable treatment plan and not require such frequent monitoring; this is when the focus shifts to longer-term lifestyle interventions that can help to prevent chronic disease. WellFemme can provide the treatment, health education and support you need right throughout your menopausal transition.

Simply book in for an initial consultation with a WellFemme doctor. You will receive a thorough assessment, treatment recommendations and a detailed report to share with your GP.

By asking your WellFemme doctor to prescribe and manage your treatment, you will automatically be enrolled in our six-month Transition Support Program. An invoice for the one-off program fee of $90 (or $45 for pension/ concession card holders) will be invoiced to you soon afterwards, with payment deducted from your authorised account one month after your first appointment (payment plans available on request).

Not necessarily. Our structured Transition Support Program (TSP) has been created to ensure that you receive the responsive clinical support often needed in the first six months of a new treatment plan. The program is designed to support all our new patients, however if your doctor doesn’t feel that you will benefit from the addition of nursing support they may agree to opt you out of the program.

Patients who are opted out of the program should be aware however that they may have to wait until their usual doctor’s next working day for non-urgent clinical queries or issues.

Overall our TSP provides gold standard clinical care at minimal cost- just a single payment of $90, or $45 for concession card holders- however our team can also work out a payment plan if needed.

Yes, unlike most other Telehealth menopause clinics you can choose which doctor you see. Selecting a doctor you feel comfortable with is important for discussing symptoms, treatment options, and personal preferences.

If you want continuity of care it’s helpful to stick with one doctor, but you can switch or seek a second opinion if needed. Make sure your medical history and past treatment details are shared with your new provider to ensure safe and effective ongoing care.

No, not for quality clinical care with longer consultations. Some Telehealth menopause clinics advertise “free” initial consultations and follow-up appointments, but then require you to pay expensive ongoing subscription fees in addition to the cost of medications. Compared to WellFemme, you can end up paying hundreds of dollars more over just the first 6 months!

Overall WellFemme’s fees are comparable to other Telehealth services, and substantially cheaper than some. There is no other service that provides such thorough, supportive team-based care with your choice of doctor for the price.

Yes, if you choose to start a new treatment with your WellFemme doctor, but it’s completely up to you.

Some patients are just looking for information and advice, and are happy to take their comprehensive written report away to discuss with their usual GP. Others prefer their WellFemme doctor to prescribe and manage their treatment, owing to their higher level of menopause knowledge and experience.

By the end of your initial assessment you can let your WellFemme doctor know whether you’d like them to manage your treatment. If you would, they will send you an eScript for your new medication and you will be automatically enrolled in our six-month Transition Support Program (details on the page above).
