What if you could put yourself first? What if you could feel more in control? What if you could find space to achieve your own dreams?
It is rather overwhelming to think of everything women in their midlives (between 40 and 60 years) must juggle. The Seattle Midlife Women’s Health Study revealed one overarching theme: “Searching for balance in the midst of multiple co-occurring stressors while coping with losses and transitions, for some in a context of limited resources.” They follow five sub-themes:
Changing family relationships,
Re-balancing work and personal Life
Rediscovering self,
Securing enough resources, and
Coping with multiple co-occurring stressors.
These are all big headings on their own; how do we go about putting ourselves first? The question is, can you afford not to put yourself first? I say this because if you don’t, then burn out will be imminent and all the negative things that go with it.
If you are well in all aspects of your life, then this gives you the power of choice and you can much better serve the people who need you. The other strange feeling in midlife is, you have achieved a lot of your goals: happy kids and family, nice house, and good career, yet there is a piece of you missing.
It’s tricky to keep ourselves healthy in all the chaos around us. Have you ever thought of seeing a qualified Life Coach? A life coach is a person that works in partnership with an individual to help them reach their potential across all facets of life. A coach believes that the person is whole and complete and that each person they work with has the resources inside them to achieve what they set out to achieve.
There are many examples of how a life coach can help, including:
Improved self confidence
Better relationships
Heightened self-awareness
Better life balance.
