Peri/Menopause Counselling

You may not think you’re in need of treatment or ready for a “full” consultation with one of our doctors, but when it comes to healthy ageing everyone benefits from being well informed and prepared! If you want information about perimenopause and menopause that is personalised to your situation, then a nurse consultation is perfect for you.

Discuss your particular symptoms, issues and concerns about the menopausal transition. Find out what menopausal stage you’re in, and what this means for your current and future health and wellbeing. Our nurse can also discuss lifestyle modifications and the broad range of potential treatment options with you (in general terms), which may help you decide whether to see one of our doctors for a treatment plan, however be aware that nurses cannot currently prescribe medication.

Health Coaching

Our nurse health coaching takes a person-centred approach to help you create meaningful, lasting changes to your health and wellbeing. Together, we’ll identify your goals, build motivation, and create realistic strategies that work for you.

Coaching may focus on areas such as:
  • Nutrition
  • Physical activity
  • Sleep
  • Stress management
  • Substance use disorders
  • Social connection
We can also support:
  • Goal setting and accountability
  • Symptom management for chronic conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, thyroid issues and diabetes

FAQ's

Find quick answers about eligibility, appointment types, Medicare rebates, and how to prepare for your nurse session.

A nurse appointment is a supportive, practical consultation focused on your menopause journey. You and the nurse will talk through your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, and goals. You can expect clear education about perimenopause or menopause, guidance on managing symptoms, and help understanding treatment options in general terms. You will leave with personalised recommendations and a plan for next steps, which may include ongoing coaching or a doctor appointment if needed.

No referral is required to book a nurse appointment. If you do have a GP referral, it may affect rebate eligibility depending on your circumstances.

In most cases, nurse consultations do not attract a Medicare rebate. If a rebate does apply for you, it will depend on your referral status and Medicare eligibility. The booking system will show pricing clearly, and our team can help if you are unsure.

Yes. A nurse consult is a great place to start if you want personalised education, lifestyle guidance, or help understanding what stage you are in. The nurse can support you to clarify your symptoms and priorities, and help you decide whether a doctor consultation is the right next step for a medical treatment plan.

A nurse appointment is ideal for education, counselling, lifestyle coaching, emotional well-being support, and general guidance about menopause management. A doctor appointment is more suitable if you want a formal treatment plan, prescriptions, or medical investigations such as blood tests or imaging. If you are not sure, a nurse consult can help you work out the best pathway.

Yes. Many clients book nurse appointments for ongoing support between doctor visits. This can include reviewing symptoms, checking progress with lifestyle changes, providing coaching, or talking through results and medication questions already prescribed by a doctor.

Definitely. Lifestyle and emotional well-being are core parts of nurse care. You can discuss sleep, stress, mood, motivation, nutrition, movement, alcohol intake, and how menopause is affecting your daily life, relationships, or confidence. The nurse will work with you on realistic strategies that suit your situation.

Nurses provide personalised guidance and coaching, but they cannot prescribe medication or order tests. They can explain treatment options, help you understand your results, and support you to implement changes. If you need a medical treatment plan, the nurse will recommend a doctor consultation.

Yes. Nurse appointments can be booked as one-off sessions or as part of ongoing coaching. If you are interested in longer-term support or workshops, the nurse can outline options and help you choose a structure that fits your goals and budget.
