FAQ's

Quick answers about new patient consultations, rebates, prescriptions, and how to prepare before your appointment.

A typical menopause or perimenopause review consultation lasts about 20 minutes. This allows your Doctor to:

  • Discuss your current symptoms and changes since your last visit
  • Review treatment effectiveness and any side effects
  • Conduct a basic physical assessment if needed
  • Update or adjust your care plan
  • Provide guidance on lifestyle strategies and next steps
  • Longer appointments may be scheduled if you have complex concerns or multiple health issues to address.

For continuity of care and monitoring purposes it is preferable to follow up with the same doctor who prescribed your initial treatment if possible. If it’s not possible to see the same doctor, WellFemme can suggest another one of our doctors to take over your care.

No, you do not require a referral to book in with our doctors for any appointment type.

Yes, if they are required. Sometimes our patients prefer to have referrals done by their local GP, who is more connected with various specialists in their locality.

Your Medicare rebate (if you are eligible) will be processed automatically in the evening after your appointment.

We provide you with written reports from your consultations, which we highly recommend that you share with your local GP. It is important that they know what treatments you are on, and the reason behind this, so it can be factored in with other treatments they prescribe for you.
