Midlife Relationships

Most men have never been taught how to connect deeply and be close…

If men don’t know exactly how to succeed, they typically pull away. This is often the case when their partner is going through menopause, when in fact their intention is to minimise distress. The resulting disconnection leads to painful consequences for both men and women.

We held a webinar on Thursday September 26, 2024 to shed light on this very topic. A webinar designed for couples, to stimulate frank discussions about midlife relationship and intimacy issues.

Meet “Mr and Mrs Meno,” a couple who are navigating life and their relationship through the peri/menopausal transition. Who are they? What challenges does Midlife throw at them? How do they manage these challenges day to day whilst still remaining connected as a couple and honouring their individual needs and growth? What if they can’t???

Clinical psychologist and podcaster Todd Zemek teams up with WellFemme menopause expert Dr. Rosie Ross to explore the pitfalls and opportunities that midlife presents in relationships.

WellFemme Founder Dr Kelly Teagle will facilitate as they discuss:

-The gendered perspective of our partners, relationship and menopausal symptoms (from both sides),
-Tips on nurturing a supportive relationship at this time,
-How partners can support their loved one through the menopausal transition, and
-How women can communicate their needs effectively

NOTE: We will present a cis/hetero couple as the example, but the experiences and advice are mostly translatable to other non-intimate and non-hetero relationships as well.
